OK, its been almost a year since I took delivery of my Vantage and I want to let everyone know how extremely satisfied I am with this skiff. It is truly amazing! It doesn’t matter if I am fishing alone or guiding up to three anglers the boat is perfectly at home on the flats poling for Reds in the skinny, chasing Tarpon and Cobia off the beach, to running offshore several miles for Kings this boat can do it all!
For the record this is my second skiff from East Cape. My first was a 2009 Lostmen that I absolutely loved. The Lostmen was perfect for the type of fishing I was doing at the time, however, things change and I needed a little more boat. The Vantage was the only skiff that came to mind. It truly blends the best of all worlds when it comes to performance. I have run the Vantage in all kinds of conditions and this boat never ceases to amaze me or my clients. It poles great and is quiet on the flats and is extremely dry when running the nasty stuff in the bays and offshore. It has a tremendous amount of room for storage and I regularly fish up to three clients with room to spare.
Dealing with the crew from East Cape over the years has been great. The guys obviously enjoy what they do and they do it extremely well. Customer service is fantastic, they have always been there when I needed them and stand behind their skiffs! For those of you that are considering buying a skiff from East Cape, I say don’t hesitate. Find the one that meets your needs and go for it! You will not be disappointed. East Cape is truly a special kind of boat manufacturer made up of that rare combination of great people, customer service, and state of the art performance skiffs!
